Lynne is categorized by a name that has left a lasting legacy on how many female veterans of the Vietnam War are seen by Americans. Female nurses were labelled as
"Forgotten Veterans"
because the overshadowing view and representation that combat veterans received. How is it that women in the Vietnam war are labelled Forgotten Veterans when so many served? The Department of Defense attributes that between the years of 1962 and 1973, around 7,500 women sacrificed their time for the efforts in Vietnam. Lynne Morgan-Ruyle, and heroes like her, are to this day labelled as forgotten Veterans.
